I first knew Sue in the early 1980s when I was a new teacher at Lampton and kept in touch until this year. I always counted on her as a good friend and mentor really. She was intelligent, had fierce values, was good fun and I assumed I would meet more like her in my career, but it turned out she was a one off. I was one of those who played badminton and tennis after school on a Friday and squash at Thames Ditton with Sue, went to the Jolly Farmers and the little pub in Kneller Road. Will miss her.
