Dedicated to the memory of Susan Casey

This site is a tribute to our much-loved sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Susan touched the lives of so many people in her teaching, her work with the Labour party, her keen interests in tennis and bridge, and her work with the Isleworth community and its local history. We will miss her dearly.

Susan's funeral

Funeral service is on Friday 7th March 2025, at 3.20pm at Mortlake Crematorium, followed by a reception at Thistleworth Tennis Club from 5pm. All are welcome at both the service and the reception. We would love it if you could join friends and family there.

Please feel free to bring a single stem flower to place on Susan's casket as you leave the chapel.

There is limited parking at Thistleworth tennis club, so please park nearby on the road where there are no parking restrictions.

Thoughts

I am so sad at the loss of Sue. I have known Sue through Thistleworth Tennis club for over 20 years and she was so kind to us newbies, and made us feel part of the club. Over the years i have seen her dedication, and contributions to the club, and become a friend. A warm, kind and inspiring soul who shall be sorely missed. Om Shanti

So sorry to learn that we have lost Susan. A really lovely, gentle lady who I knew through Richmond Bridge Club.

I was lucky enough to train and then work at Lampton while Susan was deputy head there. As a member of senior leadership she was a model of integrity, professionalism and kindess; as a member of the English department she was all of this but also utterly collegiate, gladly rolling up her sleeves to take on the toughest classes rather than leave them to less experienced colleagues. She was so passionate about the subject of English, and how it could inspire and enrich the lives of students: if you needed to find funds for a theatre trip, or get travel forms signed off at the last minute, then Susan would be there, ready not just to help with paperwork but come along if you needed her. She priortised the students, their learning and their welfare, above everything else. I valued and admired Susan as an exceptionally principled and courageous woman, but she was also a lot of fun. She had such a memorable and infectious laugh - a mix of a hoot and a chuckle - and I am smiling now as I think of it. I am so sorry that I cannot be there the funeral but my thoughts will be with her family and her many friends.
